The past few days for Nebraska football have been fantastic.

This past Saturday, the Cornhuskers finally got their first win of the season. A record of 1-6 may look bad, but getting that first victory is always exciting. QB Adrian Martinez won the Manning Award thanks to his efforts, too.

Nebraska is finally trending upward. Scott Frost got his first win as coach of the Huskers and guys may now start to be able to truly buy in to what he’s selling.

Frost is also selling recruits on the future of Nebraska as well. And on Thursday, it became clear that he must have sold his pitch well to Darien Chase. Chase, a 4-star athlete from Vancouver, Wash., verbally committed to the Huskers:

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound play-maker was reportedly down to just two schools: Nebraska and Boise State. The Huskers obviously won out.

Nebraska’s 2019 class now has 18 verbal commitments and ranked as the No. 6 class in the Big Ten prior to Chase’s pledge. This will be Frost’s first full recruiting class with the Huskers and he appears to be making it count.

It’s all about the guys that he brings in for his system, though. A 4-star like Chase could turn out to be a Heisman Trophy hopeful if everything goes perfectly. Just look at 3-star recruits like Jonathan Taylor going to Wisconsin.

Anything is possible and Frost is selling it well.
