Nebraska football is losing a redshirt offensive lineman as Matthew Anderson has entered the transfer portal.

Anderson, who joined the program in 2019 and has yet to appear in a game, has four years of eligibility remaining.

Coming out of high school, Anderson was a three-star recruit. He held offers from a number of programs from the likes of Louisiana, Louisiana Tech and North Dakota State among others. The Cornhuskers were his only ‘Power Five’ offer.

In high school, he was selected to the USA Today All-Louisiana team as well as playing tennis and being captain of the chess team.

In recent days, Nebraska has seen players such as defensive lineman Keem Green and offensive lineman Boe Wilson enter the transfer portal.

This past season, Nebraska was a disappointing 3-5 although they did close out 2020 with two wins from their final three games. They currently have the fifth-best recruiting class in the Big Ten according to 247Sports.
