Nebraska added a huge piece Friday afternoon, picking up Ben Scott out of Arizona State. Scott is a veteran offensive tackle that adds size and talent to Nebraska’s roster.

Following the news, Nebraska offensive line coach Donovan Raiola weighed in on the pickup. Raiola and Scott are both Hawaii natives and Scott attended the same high school as Raiola’s brother Dominic furthering the connection between the two.

Scott and Dominic both went to St. Louis High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.

“He actually went to Dom’s high school, St. Louis,” Raiola said. “We’re excited to get a player like that, with that kind of experience. 3-year starter. Two years at right tackle, then one year at center. He’ll be a real good piece to add to the room.”

Nebraska is hoping Scott will help the Huskers get their program back on track after a rough 4-8 season. The Huskers are starting a new chapter as they moved on from head coach Scott Frost earlier this season.
