Nebraska picked up another commitment for the class of 2022 Sunday, this time adding a home-grown player out of Lincoln.
The prospect is Jake Appleget, a player out of Lincoln Southeast High School. He holds offers from Minnesota, Yale, South Dakota State, and Penn among others.
“Thank you to my coaches, trainers, teammates, and friends who helped me become a better athlete and a better person,” wrote Appleget on Twitter. “I also want to thank every coach who put time and effort into recruiting me over the year. With that being said, I will be continuing my academic and football career at The University of Nebraska!”

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 210 lbs., Appleget has made plays on both sides of the ball in high school as a wide receiver and linebacker. However, 247 Sports rates Appleget as a three-star edge rusher and the sixth overall prospect out of Nebraska for 2022.
The addition of Appleget, along with the previous commitment of linebacker Ernest Hausmann, gives Nebraska two of the top six in-state prospects for the cycle.
