Nebraska will see another player enter the transfer portal.
Kicker Chase Contreraz took to Twitter to announce his decision to enter the portal. Contreraz said he was “forever grateful,” for the opportunities presented to him at Nebraska. The kicker then announced that he will be spending his last year of eligibility elsewhere.
Contreraz did not see the field in 2022 as Timmy Bleekrode was the primary kicker for the team. Contreraz saw considerable action in 2021 and finished 11-of-11 on extra points and 2-of-4 on field goals.

Contreraz originally walked on to the Huskers in 2019. Before that, Contreraz kicked for NJCAA school Iowa Western where he went 13-of-16 on field goals and 40-of-42 on XPs.
As a graduate transfer, Contreraz will have 1 season of eligibility remaining. Several Division 1 teams struggled in the FG department in 2022, with Michigan State and Central Michigan converting 50% or less of FG attempts.
