Nebraska vs. Akron cancelled and rescheduled due to massive storm

The Nebraska Cornhuskers entered the 2018-19 season with plenty of hype, but it seems as if that hype train — led by conductor Scott Frost — will have to wait a little bit longer.
To be fair, the Huskers did get to come out of the tunnel in epic fashion and there was at least a kick-off in the game, but nothing was accomplished at Memorial Stadium between Nebraska and Akron — and that’s because a huge storm came through and ended up cancelling the game.
When we say nothing was accomplished, we do mean that there was a sing-a-long in the student section and some random guy decided to really take in the rain delay as high up as he could get.
But that’s about it.
No Nebraska football, for now. No Frost…for now.
But what we do have is some Twitter action fresh out of the rain. Let’s dry ’em off and take a look:

Edit: It was being reported that the two teams will try it again on Sunday, but Nebraska is officially calling it.
The game vs. Akron has been cancelled. We will open our season against Colorado next Saturday.
