Nebraska football had a wideout go into the transfer portal on Tuesday. Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda posted about the decision from his Twitter account.

Garcia-Castaneda appeared in four games this season. He had a breakout game versus Northwestern in the season opener with 120 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.

The former Nebraska wideout now has two years of eligibility left as a college player. Garcia-Castaneda originally transferred into the Huskers program from New Mexico State.

Garcia-Castaneda decided to redshirt for the remainder of the season and has been dealing with an undisclosed injury as of late. He left a message for Nebraska fans.

“After the Oklahoma game, I discussed with my family that was best for me to redshirt for the rest of the season,” said Garcia-Castaneda. “With continuous conversations and prayers, I believe it is in my best interest to continue my collegiate career elsewhere. I have officially entered my name into the transfer portal.”

Tuesday was the last day that Huskers players were allowed to enter the portal after Scott Frost was fired following a loss to Georgia Southern.

We’ll keep you updated on where he’ll be heading next.
