Nebraska’s B1G losing streak hits 20 games with lopsided loss to Ohio State

Things are not looking good for Fred Hoiberg’s squad.
In his first season at Nebraska, the Huskers finished at a disappointing 7-25 mark. That record included a 2-18 record and last-place finish in the B1G, compounded by a 17-game losing streak to end the season.
The start to B1G play this season has been equally discouraging with Nebraska hitting 0-3 with Wednesday’s loss to Ohio State. Every loss has been by double digits, though the loss to the Buckeyes was especially ugly.
The Huskers turned the ball over 15 times and managed just three assists. It is no surprise such a combination contributed to an ugly shooting effort. Nebraska finished 17-for-60 from the floor and a disastrous 5-for-33 – or 15.2% – from three-point range.
Ohio State cruised to a 36-point win with a final score of 90-54. The last conference win for Nebraska came on Jan. 7 of 2020 against Iowa.
Moving forward, the Huskers will get Michigan State on Jan. 2. The Spartans are equally struggling in the B1G at 0-3, though Tom Izzo’s squad has a couple of quality non-conference wins to their credit. Considering some of the losses Michigan State has taken lately, it might be an angry team that faces Nebraska this Saturday.
