Being named a team captain at any college football program is an extremely high honor. But at a program with as much tradition and pride as Nebraska, it means just a little bit more.
Junior offensive lineman Jerald Foster was recently named a captain for the Cornhuskers for the 2017 season, despite missing a good chunk of last season because of an MCL injury. Foster, who was humbled by the honor, talked about what it meant to be named a captain at Nebraska:
A team, a family, bigger than any one player.@JeraldFoster is humbled to be named Captain by his brothers.

“It’s just hard to put into words.”
That may be the statement that sums up Foster’s thoughts the best.
Foster played in the final four games of the 2016 season for the Huskers, missing the first nine with that MCL injury. He also played in all 13 games in 2015 as a redshirt freshman, mostly on special teams.
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound junior is expected to be a key contributor on the offensive front for the Huskers this fall.
