There’s a broad trend across Nebraska football and basketball in close contests that’s quite remarkable.
According to research from KLIN Sports Director Kaleb Henry, Nebraska has a 5-18 record in one-score games in football under Scott Frost and a 1-8 record in basketball under Fred Hoiberg.

Fred Hoiberg 1-8

This season, Nebraska football has played in six games that were one-score, with a record of 0-6. The most recent one-score loss for Nebraska football was 28-23 vs. Purdue on Oct. 30.
Nebraska basketball tipped off with a season-opening 75-74 loss vs. Western Illinois. The lone one-score victory for Hoiberg was a 62-61 victory at Penn State on Feb. 14, 2021.
Nebraska football is 3-7 overall and seventh place in the B1G West. Nebraska is on a bye this week and will return to action on Nov. 20 at Wisconsin.
Can the Huskers buck this ugly trend soon?
