Even with a vaccine allegedly on the very-near horizon, Covid-19 continues to wreak destruction on scheduled athletic events across the country.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers basketball program was forced already to re-arrange the first week of its schedule and the trouble has flared up again in week three as the Florida A&M Rattlers were forced to cancel their game against Nebraska due to Covid-19 issues on their roster.

The game was the Husker’s last tune-up contest before their Big Ten/ACC Challenge game at home against Georgia Tech the night of Dec. 9. Nebraska went 3-1 in their early non-conference games with the only loss a 69-66 defeat at the hands of the Nevada Wolfpack.

New head coach Fred Hoiberg is in his second season in Lincoln and—after finishing 7-25 (2-18 league) in his first campaign—is expected over time to make the relatively invisible Cornhuskers basketball program at least good enough to compete in the always strong Big Ten conference.
