The Indiana Hoosiers announced the hiring of new offensive coordinator Walt Bell last week to replace Nick Sherida, who was fired following a 2-10 year.

Bell was previously the head coach at UMass, but was terminated during the 2021 campaign. However, he does bring plenty of experience to Bloomington, previously serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Florida State and at Maryland.

Despite struggling at UMass, Bell says he feels like he has found a home in Bloomington.

“No. 1 is just how incredibly excited I am to be here. … What coach Allen has done here is incredible. The Outback Bowl, the Gator Bowl, what he’s done here is incredible in itself.

“I feel like I’m in the right place at the right time with the right guy.”

The Hoosiers finished the season with an 0-9 in the Big Ten. Indiana was the only Power 5 team to not reach 100 points against conference opponents for the season, prompting at change at OC.
