New Penn State OC Mike Yurcich describes how he wants offense to operate in 2021

Mike Yurcich has been in charge of some high-level offenses in the past, so calling the shots at a program like Penn State with high aspirations is not intimidating for the former Texas, Ohio State and Oklahoma State offensive coordinator. He has a specific plan for the Nittany Lions.
Tuesday, Yurcich met with reporters to discuss his arrival in State College and what his plans are for the Penn State offense. Until he gets to know the personnel a little bit better and work with players on an individual basis, he didn’t dive too much into specifics.
However, Yurcich was willing to give a basic outline of what he wants to see from his offense this year.
“We want to be a physical offense, we want to be a smart offense and we want to be a skilled offense,” Yurcich said, according to Greg Pickel of PennLive.com.
Yurcich also talked about the importance of limiting turnovers and creating explosive plays, especially in the B1G. He believes that those are two areas that could be improved upon, much like head coach James Franklin.
Penn State closed out the 2020 season with a 4-5 record, winning four straight after opening the year 0-5. The Nittany Lions are hoping to immediately jump back into the race for a B1G title with the likes of Ohio State in 2021.
