It wasn’t that long ago that Cam Newton was being recruited by virtually every program in the country.
The eventual Heisman Trophy winner and national champion quarterback initially picked Urban Meyer’s Florida Gators before transferring to Auburn. Even though that wasn’t that long ago, plenty has changed since Newton was recruited.
Guys like Jim Harbaugh have revolutionized the process with sleepovers, signing day productions and satellite camps. NFL stars like Newton took notice.
He joined 247sports’ Kipp Adams and discussed how recruiting has changed and whether or not he would’ve gone to Michigan with Harbaugh’s tactics today.
