One of the best defensive backs in college football is on Penn State’s roster, according to NFL.com.

The website recently ranked the top five DBs in college football. Penn State’s Marcus Allen came in at No. 4 on the list. He was the only B1G player to get recognition.

NFL.com pointed to Allen’s size and unique skill-set, as well as his ability to make big plays and deliver punishing hits. Here’s what else the website had to say about the Nittany Lion defender:

Although he’s best suited to play near the line of scrimmage as a pro, he’s athletic enough to be a factor against the pass, which will entice defensive coordinators looking for a safety who can rock and roll in the back end. In a league skewing toward the pass, a long, athletic safety with pop could be a hot commodity when the draft rolls around.

Allen finished last season with 110 stops, the third-highest total in the B1G. He also accounted for six tackles for loss, three pass break-ups and a forced fumble. For his career, Allen has totaled 249 tackles.

Oh, and Allen was the one responsible for a pretty impressive blocked field goal that propelled the Nittany Lions past Ohio State last season.
