NFL owners exchange heated words during league meetings, per report

Looks like things got pretty heated between two of the NFL’s most recognizable owners. According to ESPN’s Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr., the issue stemmed from new contract negotiations involving commissioner Roger Goodell.
That led to a brief verbal spat between Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. The vote passed by a 31-1 margin.
The lone dissenter? Jerry Jones.
Then the outspoken owner allegedly uttered an expletive at Kraft. “Don’t f* with me,” Jones said. Kraft then responded with “Excuse me” to which Jones hit back with “Don’t mess with me.”
A little fireworks at an owner’s meeting. Maybe Jones is upset Kraft and the Patriots have 6 Super Bowls since 2001. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t been to the big game since following the 1995 season.
Jones has often opposed new contracts for the commissioner. His argument is reported that Goodell’s contract should be based on performance bonuses and not salaried. Goodell has been commissioner since 2006. Kraft might have been defending him in this moment, in which led to the exchange.
