Former Ohio State edge rusher Nick Bosa is projected as a top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, but his path to the pros has not gone as planned.

On Sept. 15, when OSU faced TCU, Bosa sustained a left groin injury that sidelined him the rest of the season, one the Buckeyes were hoping would include a berth in the College Football Playoff. At the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, he opened up about the injury when speaking to reporters.

“When it happened, when I got home from that TCU game, I was laying in bed, I could barely get up,” he said, per NBC Sports Bay Area. “It was one of the darkest moments of my life so far.”

While Bosa is ready to suit up again and resume his football career. He says it was basic tasks that posed the biggest challenges after surgery.

“The toughest part is the beginning,” Bosa said. “It’s such a unique injury in that it’s literally the muscle used to breathe, to cough, to go to the bathroom. It’s your core muscle. It’s something different than what I’ve dealt with before.

“It’s really gradual, small steps. Once you get through it, I’m feeling better than I’ve ever felt right now.”

More on Bosa’s recovery and return to the gridiron can be found in Matt Maiocco’s full article here.
