Nick Bosa and Chase Young used to terrorize opposing quarterbacks while in college at Ohio State. Now, the two have been paired together as the bookend pass rushers for the San Francisco 49ers following a recent trade.

On Sunday, the two players are getting their first action together since reuniting, and it’s paying off early. In the second quarter, Young and Bosa delivered a sack of Jacksonville QB Trevor Lawrence with both former Buckeyes beating their man off the ball.

Lawrence tried to step up as the rush pushed back, but it was too little too late for the QB to escape the duo:

The two defenders played together at Ohio State from 2017-18 with strong results for each player. In the 2017 season, Bosa led the team with 8.5 sacks and 16 TFL while Young delivered 3.5 sacks and 5 TFL as a freshman.

In 2018, Bosa was off to a strong start but appeared in just 3 games due to injury. Young would lead the Buckeyes with 10.5 sacks and 14.5 TFL.

Now, the two stars are back together, and they will try to lead the 49ers defense deep into the playoffs.
