Nick Saban on if you want to talk (expletive) about the other team: Join the debate team

College football is back, folks.
Week 0 is done and over with, but Week 1 is when the meat and potatoes of the sport takes place. Everyone is involved in Week 1 — that’s what makes it great.
Speaking of Week 1, Alabama is taking on Duke. A couple days before the game against the Blue Devils, coach Nick Saban made a radio appearance. One quote is drawing more attention than the others:
“If you want to talk shit to the other team, join the god damn debate team,” Saban said on the radio.

The quote itself is quite funny. And, he has a point. It’s not often you hear about an Alabama player talking crap about an upcoming opponent. Why not?
Because of Saban. He doesn’t want his players giving the other team ammunition to get fired up. But, probably not only that, but he wants his team focused on winning and playing the best it can. Don’t focus on getting in the other team’s head.
Focus on yourself.
