That Penn State team that everyone thought would be so good preseason has finally shown up. Better late than never, we suppose.
The Nittany Lions just took a late lead over No. 2 Indiana, thanks to a massive run and subsequent punch-in touchdown by Nick Singleton, an interception of Fernando Mendoza on the ensuing drive, and another Singleton touchdown, this time a reception.
It’s all Nittany Lions with just under 7 minutes to go, 24-20. Here’s a look at the go-ahead score:
As mentioned above, Singleton has been a monster in this second half. The Penn State running back is up to 10 carries for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns with the above receiving touchdown to boot. Here’s his long run that helped set up his own touchdown from the drive that preceded the above score:
Obviously, this is a massive moment for Indiana football. The Nittany Lions have lost 5 straight, and a loss here would plummet the Hoosiers in the College Football Playoff rankings.
There’s a lot of football still to be played. Can the Nittany Lions end their 5-game losing streak and shake up the college football world?
Buckle up.
