Nico Collins’ potential All-Pro season is now very much on hold.
The Houston Texans’ 4th-year wide receiver and former Michigan standout is being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, meaning he will be sidelined for a minimum of 4 games.

Collins will be out at least through Week 9. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there’s a hope that Collins will return “sooner rather than later.”

Collins was forced to leave Sunday’s victory over Buffalo in the 1st quarter. He suffered the injury on his 67-yard touchdown catch during that 1st quarter after helping Houston take a 14-3 lead. Collins did not return to the game.
Losing Collins is obviously a big blow to the Texans, who are off to a 4-1 start that has them firmly atop the AFC South.
Since the start of last season, Collins is 4th in the NFL in receiving yards per game (93.2), 2nd in yards per route run (3.22) and 2nd in yards per target (12.1).
The loss of Collins is devastating to Houston’s passing game. Three of CJ Stroud’s 7 touchdowns have gone to Collins. Without Collins on Sunday, the Texans managed to score just 9 points.
Collins has 32 catches for 567 yards this season, which leads the NFL.
