Nico Collins is done for the year, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday afternoon.

The former Michigan wide receiver was placed on injury reserve Friday afternoon, effectively ending his season as the Houston Texans are already eliminated from postseason contention.

Collins had a productive second NFL season despite battling injury. He pulled in 37 receptions for 481 yards receiving and two touchdowns in his 10 games. Last season in his rookie year, he racked up 446 yards and 1 touchdown on 33 receptions.

Collins played at Michigan from 2017 to 2020 and had a productive 4 years with the Wolverines. He recorded 1,388 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns despite missing most of his freshman season and all of the 2020 season. He was taken by the Texans in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

With the Texans’ postseasons chances shot, they will look to muster up a win against the Tennessee Titans this Saturday to try and build some momentum heading into next season when Collins will hopefully return.
