Niko Palazeti, assistant strength coach at Ohio State, confirms departure from Buckeyes

Niko Palazeti is leaving Ohio State, the Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning for the Buckeyes announced Wednesday morning.

In a statement published on Twitter, Palazeti called coaching at Ohio State the “privilege of a lifetime.” He went on to thank AD Gene Smith, head coach Ryan Day and the rest of the strength staff.

“Coaching at The Ohio State University has been a privilege of a lifetime,” wrote Palazeti.

“Thank you Gene Smith, Coach Day, Coach Mick & Heather Mason, and all the amazing support staff members.

“To the Players-I love you, thank you for making me a better Coach and Man. I am forever grateful.”

Palazeti has been a part of Ohio State’s staff since 2017 and was a player for Michigan State during his time in college. According to a previous report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Palazeti is expected to be named the director of football sports performance under new head coach Scott Satterfield at Cincinnati.
