Former Ohio State – and NFL star – Joey Galloway thinks that Ohio State is one of the best four teams in the country.
There’s a simple reason for that because Ohio State is undoubtedly one of the best four teams in the country. There isn’t really any debate about it.
It appears to be another inevitable march to the Big Ten Championship Game for Ohio State, sitting at 3-0 following a 49-27 home win over Rutgers last Saturday night. The Buckeyes have been simply dominant so far this year with quarterback Justin Fields now emerging as the frontrunner for the Heisman and the Maxwell Award.
“Ohio State is definitely one of the top-four teams in the country, just like Clemson, just like Alabama, just like Notre Dame,” Galloway said on ESPN’s College Football Podcast according to 247Sports.
“There are question marks that we’ll have to see if they play out. The run game isn’t great. The defense isn’t great. But neither is Alabama’s defense, neither is Clemson’s defense. They’re one of the four best teams. We’ll just have to see as the season plays out if they can get better in a couple of areas.”
This week, Alabama assumed the top spot in both polls following Clemson’s loss at Notre Dame on Saturday night. The Fighting Irish’s win over previously unbeaten and No. 1 Clemson saw them jump into second in the polls with Ohio State holding steady at third.
Clemson sits at No. 4.
Galloway, a former All-Big Ten wide receiver at Ohio State, played 17 seasons in the NFL. He is now an analyst for ESPN.
