Nobody Better: Ryan Day calls Shaun Wade the top returning CB in college football

Ohio State received a huge boost this offseason when Shaun Wade decided he would return to Columbus for one more season. The cornerback could’ve taken a chance at the NFL, but opted to put on the Buckeye uniform for another season.
It was some of the biggest news of the offseason, according to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.
Monday, Day met with the media as the Buckeyes kicked off the start of spring practice. The head coach, who is entering his second season in Columbus, said Wade’s return was a significant bonus for the Ohio State defense.
“I mean, Shaun coming back was huge,” Day said, according to Tony Gerdeman of The O-Zone. “I think Shaun, in my opinion, should be considered the top corner in the country coming back in all of football.”
Wade finished the 2019 season with 25 tackles, eight pass break-ups, one interception and a forced fumble. He’ll have big shoes to fill, with both Jordan Fuller and Jeff Okudah both gone. But his return is certainly beneficial for the Buckeyes, providing some experience in the secondary.
Ohio State’s spring practice is now officially underway. The spring game is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 with the start time at noon ET.
