Northeastern guard, elite scorer considering two B1G programs after entering transfer portal

Two B1G basketball programs are in the mix for an elite scorer out of Northeastern.
Maryland and Michigan State are two of the programs Tyson Walker is considering after entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com. The former Northeastern guard is expected to make his decision on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
Four other schools are also considered finalists: Kansas, Miami, Texas and Vanderbilt.

During the 2020-21 season at Northeastern, Walker averaged 18.8 points and 4.8 assists per game, shooting 44.4% from the floor. He also averaged 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals per contest. The Huskies ended the season with a 10-9 record.
Walker played two seasons at Northeastern and saw a huge improvement in all statistical areas from his freshman year to his sophomore campaign. In 2019-20, the guard averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
He has played in 50 career games.
Walker scored 20 points or more eight times during the 2020-21 season, including a season-high 36 in a 76-67 victory over Towson. He hit double figures in all but one contest.
