Peyton Ramsey? More like Peyton Manning.

Ramsey, the Northwestern quarterback, continued his big afternoon, a second touchdown pass putting the Big Ten program up 14-0 over Auburn in the Citrus Bowl.

It is now the fourth time this year that Ramsey has multiple touchdown passes in a game.  Northwestern, No. 14 and 6-2 this year, has ridden a tough defense to the postseason against 6-4 Auburn.

The touchdown came on 2nd and goal from Auburn’s 6-yard line with 3:14 left in the first quarter.

Rolling out to his right, Ramsey found tight end John Raine near the pylon. With a turn and a stretch of the ball over the goal line, Raine got the Wildcats second touchdown of the game.

The offensive explosion from Northwestern is surprising. They had the Big Ten’s best defense this year – by a mile – but the offense has struggled at times. To that end, with his throw late in the first quarter, Ramsey now has 11 passing touchdowns on the season.
