Carson Grove is staying home. The Arlington Heights, Illinois, native has committed to play for Northwestern.
A 5-10, 170-pound ATH out of John Hersey, announced his pledge to play for the Wildcats on social media Monday. He shared a note with the following:
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for getting me to where I am today. Next, I want to thank my family for constantly supporting me throughout my football journey. I would like to thank my friends and teammates for pushing me every day to be better. Lastly, I would like to thank all my coaches, especially Coach Nelson, for developing me and being amazing mentors for me. With that being said, I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Northwestern. #GoCats”
Grove is rated 3-stars, the No. 42 Illinois recruit and No. 204 ATH in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports. He chose Northwestern over offers from 14 other schools.
It’s an interesting time to commit to Northwestern. First-time head coach David Braun is serving in the interim role for the 2023 season after the dismissal of Pat Fitzgerald. Veteran head coach Skip Holtz is joining the staff as a special assistant.
