Northwestern’s hopes of earning a first round victory in the B1G Tournament have taken a hit.

On the Big Ten Network’s Tip-off Show before the first game of the 2019 tournament, Northwestern head coach Chris Collins said that forward Vic Law was doubtful for the Wildcats’ first round matchup against Illinois on Wednesday night. Law suffered an injury to his knee in the season finale against Purdue on Saturday.

Law is averaging 15 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career in the season opener this year. He also registered his first career double-double against Illinois this year, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Northwestern finished the season last in the B1G, posting a 4-16 record in conference play. The Wildcats were 13-18 overall for the year.
