Northwestern reveals alternate uniforms for rivalry games vs. Illinois

No. 14 Northwestern (5-1) will host Illinois (2-4) on Saturday in its regular season finale (11 a.m. EST/ESPN2).

On Friday, Northwestern shared the alternative uniform combo they’ll be donning for their final home game of the season. The Wildcats are going with the gothic look for Saturday’s showdown against in-state rival Illinois.

Those are some epic threads.

After this game, Northwestern will square off with No. 4 Ohio State (5-0) in the B1G title game. Northwestern’s game last week at Minnesota was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns. Northwestern’s last game was a 29-20 loss at Michigan State.

Illinois is coming off a 35-21 loss against No. 16 Iowa.

Illinois leads the all-time series 55-53-5 but Northwestern has won the last five matchups. Regardless of Saturday’s outcome, the Wildcats have locked up a spot in the B1G Championship Game on Dec. 19 against Ohio State.
