Northwestern leading receiver Flynn Nagel suffered an apparent leg injury on his one and only catch in this afternoon’s game against Minnesota and will not return:
Northwestern leading WR Flynn Nagel is on crutches going to the locker room. Team isn’t ruling him out though.

The good news is that Nagel came back out after further testing and is walking on it. No crutches. However, he has officially been ruled out now.

Nagel, a senior, entered Week 12 with a team-high 63 receptions for 744 yards and two touchdowns. His lone catch against the Golden Gophers went for two yards.
It would be a tremendous loss for the Wildcats offense if Nagel were to miss significant time; the Lemont, IL native has contributed to 29.7 percent of the passing game production in 2018. Northwestern could lose today’s game and next week’s matchup with Illinois and will still be in the Big Ten championship, so hopefully this is only an extra precaution to sustain his overall health.
The Wildcats currently own a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter.
