Establishing themselves as the likely team to beat in the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish knocked off the then-No. 1 Clemson Tigers, 47-40, in double-overtime at home on November 7.

Following the victory, which vaulted the Fighting Irish to No. 2 in the Associated Press Poll, behind only the Alabama Crimson Tide, the limited number of students and fans in attendance stormed the field, leading some to be concerned about a possible spike in the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases.

This spike, however, has not happened.

As of Monday, Notre Dame only has one football student-athlete in isolation, with two additional student-athletes in quarantine because of close contact with the individual.

Holding steady at No. 2 in the November 15 AP Poll, Brian Kelly’s team is idle this Saturday, before hitting the road to battle Mack Brown’s North Carolina Tar Heels (6-2) in Chapel Hill on November 27 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
