Notre Dame’s history as a road underdog plays into Wisconsin’s favor for Week 4

We’ll see how it all plays out on the field, but it looks like the odds are in Wisconsin’s favor when the Badgers face Notre Dame in Week 4.
Wisconsin-Notre Dame will take place at Soldier Field on Sept. 25 (12 p.m. EST) and will be televised on FOX.
ESPN’s Chris Fallica offered one tidbit that should please Wisconsin fans. It points toward the struggles the Fighting Irish have had when they hit the road away from South Bend:
Since 2018, five times the Irish have been an underdog away from home. Notre Dame is 0-5 in those games and lost four by at least 17 points. Going back to a win at Arizona State in 2013, Notre Dame has lost 11 straight pre-bowl games away from home as an underdog…

However, one thing that should concern the Badgers is the red zone offense to start the year. Wisconsin has almost as many turnovers as touchdowns there to start 2021:

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 8-6-2. This is the first meeting between the programs since a Notre Dame win in 1964.
