Ochaun Mathis remains in the transfer portal and is nearing a decision on where to play the 2022 season.
A defensive end who began his career at TCU, Mathis put out a recent interview as a part of a documentary about his journey in football to this point. As a part of that documentary, Mathis revealed Nebraska and Texas are the final two options he is considering.
“Recently I’ve entered the transfer portal. I’m from TCU looking for a new school,” said Mathis. “I’m down to my final two options which is Nebraska and Texas. and hopefully we can find a new spot for me to be at where I can ball and be one of the next legendary defensive ends to come out of.”
Mathis was at Nebraska for a visit during the spring game. At the end of the documentary, Mathis set April 30 for his transfer announcement. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 247 lbs. with 12.5 career sacks, Mathis would be a nice presence along the Huskers defense in 2022.
