With a few hours left before The Game kicks off, some leaders on the Michigan side talked about how to stop Ohio State. J.J. McCarthy, Ryan Hayes, Mazi Smith and others gave their keys to the game.

McCarthy kept his answer short and sweet, “Just be us, we feel very confident about every single guy in this locker room.”

OT Ryan Hayes echoed much of the same energy that McCarthy did, which was for Michigan to keep their identity. Olusegun Oluwatimi discussed how the team needs to be “locked in” and efficient on the road.

On the defensive side of the ball, Smith talked about the importance of getting pressure on C.J. Stroud. However, he also emphasized how crucial stopping the run is.

“As important as it is to get to the passer and get a push,” said Smith. “How much we’ve gotta do that this week, first we gotta knock out the run. Then we can do that. I think we got guys that can do that all over the place.”

Everything will be settled at noon ET on FOX from Columbus.
