With the Super Bowl in the books, it’s time for the football world to turn its attention to the NFL draft.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. released his latest mock draft this week. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence is slotted in as the No. 1 overall pick.
A bit more surprising is that BYU’s Zach Wilson was the second quarterback off the board, and not Ohio State’s Justin Fields. Kiper has Wilson going No. 4 overall to the Atlanta Falcons.
Here’s every Big Ten player that made the cut:
- Ohio State QB Justin Fields, No. 7 overall, Detroit Lions
- Penn State LB Micah Parsons, No. 9 overall, Denver Broncos
- Northwestern OL Rashawn Slater, No. 10 overall, Dallas Cowboys
- Michigan DL Kwity Paye, No. 21 overall, Indianapolis Colts
Those are the only four Big Ten players who are in Kiper’s first round at this time.
Ohio State’s Shaun Wade and Minnesota’s Rashod Bateman are amongst those who could find themselves being taken in the first round as the pre-draft process marches on.
The NFL draft is scheduled for April 29-May 1.
