During a Friday night Ohio high school football game between Central Catholic and Whitmer, things took a terrible turn with 7 minutes left on the clock.
Central Catholic lead 46-16, but as Whitmer was trying to cut away at the deficit, gunshots were heard mid-play and the stadium went into a panic.

The game did not resume play as fans and players were seen scattering to try to find somewhere safe in case the shooter was inside the stadium. The shooter ended up being outside, but WTOL’s Jordan Strack reported that 3 people were shot and at least a dozen shots were fired.
The victims’ conditions are unknown, but no one inside the stadium was harmed. Either way, it was a frightening scene. Strack reported a photo of a dad having to shield his daughter, something that shouldn’t even be thought of in a high school football setting.
This absolutely broke my heart. An adult having to shield a child from gunfire at a high school football game. It’s inexcusable. I’m sick. pic.twitter.com/evXAINO0FA
