Based on his rankings and player grades alone, there’s a huge reason why Ohio State fans are excited that offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr. is coming to Columbus.

On Sunday, Johnson participated in The Opening in Nashville, and had quite the afternoon. First, the five-star offensive tackle put up some impressive testing numbers, according to 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons.

Johnson, a 6-foot-7, 290-pound lineman, posted a 5.07 time in the 40-yard dash, a 4.53 time in the shuttle run and had a 32.5-inch vertical leap. Those are some really good numbers, and a big reason why he earned a five-star rating.

There were also plenty of videos of Johnson’s afternoon at The Opening, particularly against five-star defensive end Reggie Grimes:

Johnson is ranked as the No. 1 player in Ohio, the top prospect at his position and is the No. 7 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. He’s also the top commit in Ohio State’s 2020 class.

It’s easy to see why everyone is so excited about his talent.
