Ohio State accounts for nearly half the players in ESPN’s updated Heisman Watch

The Heisman Trophy presentation ceremony may actually have to be moved to Columbus this year. If you believe ESPN’s updated Heisman Watch, there’s a really good shot that the game’s most prestigious individual award goes to a Buckeye.
Following the final weekend in October, ESPN updated its latest Heisman Watch rankings, listing the seven college football players with the best chance to claim the award. Three of the names on the list are at Ohio State.
Defensive end Chase Young, quarterback Justin Fields and running back J.K. Dobbins are all on the list, the only B1G representatives, as well. Young is the highest-ranked Buckeye coming in at No. 3. Fields sits at No. 5 and Dobbins is No. 6.

No wonder so many people believe the Buckeyes are the best team in the land. When you have three potential Heisman candidates — on both sides of the football — it’s hard to be beaten.
Young gained plenty of attention following his monster performance against Wisconsin, tallying four sacks and forcing two fumbles. Dobbins has been a dark horse all season, but is finally earning some recognition. Fields has been a contender from the start, proving to be one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the country.
