Few teams have won as many games as Ohio State since the 2000 college football season. Well, actually, there’s only one team that has posted more victories in those 20 seasons than the Buckeyes.
Recently, 247Sports released a list of the 10 winningest programs in college football since 2000. Ohio State didn’t just crack the top 10, it was sitting in that No. 2 spot. It was the only team from the B1G to make the list.
Ohio State has posted a 217-43 mark during the last two decades, a winning percentage of 83.4. The Buckeyes also claimed two national titles (2002, 2014) during that stretch. Former head coaches Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer were both huge pieces in that success, as both guided the Bucks to one national championship.
While you might expect a program like Alabama or Oklahoma to be the one team ahead of the Buckeyes, it’s actually Boise State that owns that No. 1 spot. The Broncos are 219-43 since 2000, giving them a 83.5 percent win mark.
Oklahoma was at No. 3 and LSU was No. 4. Alabama came in at No. 5.
This season, Ohio State finished with a 13-1 record and claimed its third-straight B1G title under first-year head coach Ryan Day.
