Ohio State is among three schools that is still in consideration for Alabama guard Jaden Shackelford. He has narrowed down his list and is also still considering a return to Tuscaloosa, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.

Per Goodman, Shackelford is considering Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech as potential transfer destination. The guard can still opt to return to Alabama even after entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal, if that’s in his best interest.

Shackelford recently withdrew his name from the 2021 NBA Draft but kept his name in the transfer portal. He will be entering his junior year for the 2021-22 season.

Last year, Shackelford was the leading scorer at Alabama, averaging 14 points per game in 33 contests. He was also responsible for 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

Alabama made a run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and finished with a 26-7 record. The Crimson Tide won the SEC regular season title with a 16-2 mark in league play and also claimed the SEC Tournament championship.

Ohio State could use an additional scorer on the roster after Duane Washington Jr. opted to keep his name in the NBA Draft. The Buckeyes are considered to be a contender in the B1G for the upcoming season, but bringing in more scoring would be a huge boost for Chris Holtmann’s squad.
