Ohio State held Loyola-Chicago to a new low in terms of points scored in the 1st half. If that’s any indication about how this game will turn out, it should be a great defensive game.

The Buckeyes have led the game since the 12-minute mark in the 1st half. There haven’t been a lot of lead changes either, with the game being so close. Here’s an interesting stat: the Buckeyes are 38-0 under Chris Holtmann when holding teams under 60 points, and are on pace to do the same once again.

Malaki Branham is leading the Buckeyes in scoring with 10 points at half. Ohio State’s leading scorer E.J. Liddell hasn’t done much so far with scoring with just 4 points. Fresh off his injury, Kyle Young has 5 points as well.

On the defensive side of the ball, Ohio State has done very well. The Ramblers are shooting 23% from the floor and 3-point range. The Buckeyes have also forced 7 turnovers, but have 8 by their own hand.

The Buckeyes haven’t shot the ball too well, however. Ohio State is 8-for-20 and 40% from the floor. They have also yet to make a 3-pointer, going 0-for-9 through the 1st half. However, they ended the half on a strong note going 5-for-7 from the floor.

Ohio State leads Loyola-Chicago 23-18 at halftime. The 2nd half of this game can be seen on CBS.
