Ohio State and Michigan played one of the games of the year on Saturday in Columbus, with Michigan eventually emerging with a hard-fought 13-10 victory over the rival Buckeyes.

The drama was just getting started when the final whistle blew, though. After the emotional victory, Michigan players tried to plant their flag at midfield in the Horseshoe. Naturally, Ohio State players didn’t take too kindly to that gesture.

That lead to a massive brawl at midfield, which you can see in the video below:

Players were getting their helmets ripped off and getting slammed to the ground. Bystanders were caught up in the mix.

It took a few minutes for normalcy to return and the players to be escorted off the field. FOX broadcaster Gus Johnson was critical of the Wolverines for trying to plant the flag at midfield.

A few years ago, Baker Mayfield — then the Oklahoma QB — planted the Sooners’ flag in Ohio’s stadium after a big win. But everything is more heated when it happens from a rival like Michigan.

Do the Buckeyes still have a case to make the Playoff? We’ll see what the final rankings show on Sunday, but this was a really bad loss for Ryan Day and company.
