Ohio State announces future home game against in-state opponent

Ohio State has announced a new game for the 2022 season as the school announced Toledo will be coming to The Shoe on Sept. 17, 2022.

The game will represent the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs from Ohio. The Buckeyes are 3-0 all-time against the Rockets. Ohio State is scheduled to open the 2022 season at home against Notre Dame.

Here is the complete history of the Ohio State-Toledo football series:

• Sept. 12, 1998 – Ohio State 49, Toledo 0 at Ohio Stadium
• Sept. 19, 2009 – Ohio State 38, Toledo 0 at Cleveland Browns Stadium
• Sept. 10, 2011 – Ohio State 27, Toledo 22 at Ohio Stadium
