Ohio State has announced that it has started a new partnership with Anomaly Sports Group to help its student-athletes navigate through the new waters of name, image and likeness that is coming to college sports. The news was announced on Thursday.

The new partnership is a way for Ohio State to help educate and support its student-athletes as NIL legislation changes the world of college athletics.

“Luke has been a valuable resource for our teams for many years,” said Carey Hoyt, senior associate athletic director. “He is respected and trusted by our coaches and student-athletes. As we move into the NIL space this summer, we felt it was important to have two experts in the field in Anomaly and TeamAltemus educating our student-athletes on contracts, NIL advisors, and business financial management. We are fortunate to have Luke right here in Columbus and look forward to having them both on campus and interacting with all of our teams.”

While there is currently no federal legislation and the NCAA continues to move slowly on the matter of NIL, some states have taken matters into their own hands, passing bills to allow student-athletes to profit off their name, image and likeness.

Some NIL bills will take effect as early as July 1.
