The Ohio State Buckeyes have already named Dwayne Haskins their starting quarterback for the upcoming 2018 season.
That leaves redshirt freshman Tate Martell as the backup, but he plans to be on the field a little bit this fall.
Martell said back in March that the Buckeyes are working on special packages to get him on the field in certain situations:
Tate Martell said it’s already been confirmed to him that there will be special packages to get him on the field even if he doesn’t win the starting job.

Urban Meyer recently said Martell will have a chance to win the starting job when summer practices start, but it looks like Haskins has the solid edge right now.
This summer will be a big one for Martell, as the better he plays, the more playing time he’ll likely see as the Buckeyes aim for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
