Ohio State coach Ryan Day was pretty complimentary of quarterback Justin Fields during his postgame press conference Saturday. Making his first college start, Fields led the Buckeyes to a 45-21 victory against Florida Atlantic.

When asked about Fields again Tuesday, Day sent praises his way but also implied he is only going to get better, which is a scary thought for the rest of the Big Ten.

Fields finished 18 of 25 for 234 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 61 yards and a score. But a lot of that production came in the first quarter, as Ohio State jumped out to 28-0 lead in the first 15 minutes.

If Fields and the offense can click like they did in the first quarter Saturday, they will become one of the best offenses in the country.

Day added that Fields can improve his knowledge of the playbook and on reads at the line of scrimmage. The Ohio State coach also had some comments on other aspects of the Buckeyes offense.

Ohio State will host Cincinnati in Week 2 at noon on Saturday.
