An Ohio State commit has earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors in New York.
Lindenhurst tight end Jeremy Ruckert earned the award after a sensational senior season. The 6-foo-6, 240-pound tight end had 13 touchdown receptions offensively and had 61 tackles and 13 sacks on defense.

Ruckert is a four-star prospect and is ranked as the top recruit from the state of New York and is also the best tight end of the 2018 class. Nationally, Ruckert ranks 29th overall, according to 247Sports.
Ruckert is a member of Ohio State’s 19-member recruiting class, which ranks first in the B1G and nationally. He is expected to sign with the Buckeyes on Dec. 20 and join the program in June.
