Ohio State basketball remains hot. The No. 13 seed Buckeyes are moving on in the Big Ten Tournament, taking down No. 5 seed Iowa, the defending champion, 73-69 in the second round.
The Hawkeyes led for more game time (21:07 to 13:58), but OSU took control down the stretch. Iowa’s last lead was 61-59 at the 4:43 mark of the second half.
There will not be a repeat #B1GMBBT champion.

The Buckeyes had 4 scorers in double figures. Bruce Thornton led OSU with 17 points, while Brice Sensabaugh added 16 points, Justice Sueing scored 14 and Sean McNeil had 13 points. Roddy Gayle Jr. led OSU in the second half with all 9 of his points.
As a 15-18 team, Ohio State’s only NCAA Tournament hope would be to win the Big Ten Tournament and take the conference’s automatic bid. The Buckeyes would need to win 3 more games. Up next, OSU faces No. 4 seed Michigan State. The teams played each other to end the regular-season on Saturday. MSU won 84-78.
In the first 4 games from the United Center in Chicago, the lower seed is undefeated.
