Maybe the No. 4 Ohio State-No. 9 Penn State matchup is just getting in everyone’s heads.

There’s been some uproar about the matchup itself, but not as much uproar as what Ohio State football’s official Twitter account has received.

The account posted a graphic saying ‘silence the white noise,’ in reference to Penn State’s White Out that the Nittany Lions are having for Saturday night’s clash against the Buckeyes. The graphic was then thrashed by social media, posting messages and memes regarding Ohio State’s issue with silence over the offseason.

That silence is of course in reference to coach Urban Meyer and his former assistant Zach Smith — Meyer was then suspended for three games.

Due to the push back that Ohio State’s Twitter account received, the graphic has since been deleted:

Just a few moments after posting its statement regarding the deletion of its graphic, that statement then got deleted as well.

We’re not entirely sure what the point of deleting the statement was.

Earlier, when the ‘silence the white noise’ graphic was still available for all to see, ESPN’s Dan Murphy reached out to the university about the graphic and the push back it was receiving. An Ohio State spokesman — at that time — backed the graphic:

Apparently Ohio State has had second thoughts.
